blast from the past..

The next couple of weeks were that of many dates,laughter and excitement for Mohd and Aliyah..the more they got to know each other..the more they fell deeper into this relationship..

Before heading to bed...Aliyah set her alarm clock for her 8am class tomorrow..Then, her phone vibrated..it was a "no number" she picked up hoping it was her cousin from the states as this was usually the time he would call her sometimes to check up on her..

To her complete suprise it was Fahad(( FYI: the ex from highskool he was mentioned in the first post))..she hadnt heard from him in over a month..why was he calling her now?

Aliyah was stunned..she didnt know what to say except: ewlhat 3laik el3afya..how r u

Aliyah's heart sank..they had this deal her and Fahad..they switched each other's birthday's since Aliyah was two months older then Fahad..so technically (As if Fahad had the same exact thought)
Fahad: nesaity ur birthday elyoum...(in an attempt to make her remember their "special"joke..
Aliyah felt guilty ..

She had decided couple of months ago to end her relationship with her high school sweet heart since he was a ladies man..He kept talking to other girls..cheating and lying and she was done with all of that..It was hard to do..but she had to..

Fahad let it go..he didnt want to call her and fight..he missed that voice..and he didnt want to upset her..It was true when ppl say that u only realize what u have when its gone..and he sure did miss her..he wanted her back no matter what..

Aliyah didnt see this coming at all..she was shocked..stunned..who was this Fahad? has he turned over a new leaf..has he finally realized her worth...
She didnt know what to say..
Fahad waited hoping to hear an excited yes..he was disappointed by her response or more appropriately no response at all..
Aliyah: listen Fahad i really do care about u..bs u just dropped a bomb on me and i dont know what to say

Who was this guy? who was this caring and thoughful guy Aliyah thought..
She quickly ended the conversation with Fahad (promising him to call back with an answer) since she saw Mohd was waiting on the other line...

She talked to Mohd for a few minutes and excused herself early from the conversation by saying she had a "headache"
She felt guilty that she was lying to Mohd..she didnt want to mess up things between them..they had the talk about previous realtionships before and she told him about Fahad..she didnt know if she should tell him about this confusing phone call..

She needed the girls now..She had to let this out..
She went to Norah's room since the girls chilled there before going to sleep..
She saw that Rana and Reem were there..reading Glamour and discussing fashion tips..
Norah noticed how Aliyah was upset..and asked her' eshfeech 7beebty"
Aliyah couldnt hold it in for much longer..

She burst into tears..Rana and Reem were shocked at this..The girls tried comforting her..
Aliyah: imagine guys..Fahad called me..
Norah: UMBAIHHH..eshybeeeeh!! mo chenach hadetaaa min fatraaa..
Aliyah: eee..yabee eredleee..oo yabee etqadam leee...
Rana: relax 7abeebty..dont cry,..we will work things out..entay bs dry your tears..oo lets all sit..

The girls clusttered around Aliyah in the couch..They were all discussing the major event that happened and what she should do..
Aliyah: laish these things happen as soon as im over him..as soon as i have Mohd..laishhhh
Reem; the voice of reason: Baby girl dont say that..everything happens for a reason..entay sleep on it..mo a7ssan..everything looks better in the morning nfs ma egoloon
Aliyah laughed meekly..The girls were trying their best to cheer her up..She didnt want to dampen their moods and excused herself..
She hugged them all and kissed them goodnight..They were her "family" in university..They were all best friends..The four of them and their adventures..

She went to her bedroom..and looked for her favorite blanket( it was the coziet thing ever..she had a mini tug of war with her little sister back home and stole it) it reminded her of home..
She imagined she was in her old room back home..
She closed her eyes wishing she was in Bahrain..
Wishing she was in her bedroom..in her bed..with her family..
Hot Tears rolled down her cheeks..
what was she going to do...

Mohd held on to Aliyah's hand in the movies..

They kept talking..and ppl around them were getting annoyed at their obvious puppy love..

Aliyah kept on laughing..there were so many different words/language barriers btw them even though they were both Khaleeji which was so weird but intresting;)
she then responded back by saying: 3yal what the hell is SHAKO MAKOO..thats weird c'mon! u have to admit..walah if i say that in bahrain they will laugh at me..
Mohd laughed at her sense of humor..he liked a girl who talked back..ALiyah was loads of fun..he couldnt have asked for a better date!

They were at ease with one another as if they have known each forever it seemed..
People were telling them to be quiet..
So Mohd suggested: lets leave the cinema so we can go somewhere and talk

Mohd got up ..still holding her hands

They went in the car..Mohd opened up the car window that was above them...the cool breeze was what they needed..
Aliyah ofcourse was busy changing the music in the FM..hoping to find a good song..MohD was like : lets play this game..awal e'3nya etyey etkoun ehda2 miney lach ok...

Then..the sound of AbudlMajeed Abdulla's voice echoed in the car..

Mohd paused and said: a7b hal e'3nya..khals kil ma asm3haa bethkernii feech
Aliyah: awal mara asm3haa...i like it..thanks 3ala hal ehda2 el7elo...
Mohd: sij e3jbach?

Aliyah: i love it...is that better?

They were heading back to the university..Mohd had to drop Aliyah home since it was getting late..
Mohd: e9eer next time we have dinner?
Aliyah: ee akeed..elyoum l2ana 6wlna fil sewalif mafee wagt;) enshala next time i see u

Mohd: Meta next time?
Aliyah: mmm..mdryy...(she had no clue what to say..wishing she can say Tomorow but she didnt want to come off as too eager)

Aliyah: ( wanting to play hard to get) how about sat after class a7san?

Aliyah thanked Mohd for the wonderful date..and left the car..

As she was walking to her room..She had a big smile on her face...She felt like she was walking on air...Her knees were literally weak...She thought that at any time her legs would weaken and collapse..She made sure that this didnt happen since Mohd waited for her until she got in the dorms..
She had never felt this way..ever about any guy...
no one comes close to Mohd...

She was in love..
This was the real deal she thought..

She had fallen for him..
He had fallen for her..


Mohd dialled a familiar number he knew by heart
Mohd heard a loving voice on the other end" wldy eshlonak?

His mom laughed..Mohd was her favorite she had to admit from her sons..They were so close which made her glad that he told her everything about himself..

Um Mohd: walah ana a7bha b3ad elii egdart e6yi7 wldy elthgeeel..

They both laughed..Mohd was so strict and serious when it came to girls that his Mom knew that this girl was special..

He told her all about her for the next 20min or so...


Aliyah went to bed with a smile
Mohd went to bed with a bigger smile....

Aliyah couldnt resist the urge she HAD to msg him..the girls told her not to..but she couldnt help herself..
She only thought with her heart..and this is what her heart told her to do..

She was sitting in her room..the girls were there..watching old episodes of FRIENDS..she looked at her fone..and she knew she will have to msg him now..
She sent him a text with just a" hi :) "
Literally two seconds later, her fone beeped..Mohd sent " 7raaaaaam 3laich na6rach min ams..a7la msg walah"
Aliyah smiled such a wide smile that the girls were poking one another and staring at her..

Rana shouted" I CANT BELIVE U..U MSGED HIM HA"
Aliyah just laughed..she was caught..she was so transparent with her feelings..she was an open book..and her friends knew that about her..
Norah" ma 9adig..3afya 3al sha6ra..ee b3ad laih metaa tan6er..kaifha kaifhaa..zain swaitayy..dzaitay msg?"
Aliyah" ee twnee 6rsht magdart awyid ro7eee..and laughing..
Reem " aham shay entay mistansaaa so i guess what u did is ok"
The girls were debating about the whole issue..going over the msg and what she should do next..while Aliyah's mind was elsewhere..
She then saw

"mOhD calling"

she screamed.
All the girls went quiet..and one by one laughed...Norah shouted" PICK UPPPP YAlaaaaaaa!!!!"

Aliyah went running to the other room and picked up the fone..
out of breath she said "aloo"

Aliyah couldnt think straight..really..it was that bad..
Aliyah:mmm...(( she couldnt speak ))
Mohd kept on talking " sorry did i call in a bad time"
Aliyah(gaining her sense of speech): heheh afaa 3laik..wagtee lak...
**silenceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee**

Mohd: eb kil 9ara7aaa 3daltay mazajey elyoum eb hal 7achii el7elo..bt3wad tarah adg 3laich kil eshwai etha chethee..
Aliyah: u can call whenever u want..( blushing..who was this straightforward girl..she was suprised with herself..)
Mohd: thanks and i will;) ha eshrayich bacher thurs enrooo7 movie?
Aliyah: Perfect..

they talked for a few more minutes about the details of their thursday date..

Aliyah went to the girls in the other room..they all went silent when she came in...
Aliayah then smiled widely" thurs. cinema date"

The girls were all shouting with excitement..everyone kept talking and Aliyah didnt hear a word..she was in la la land..thinking about Mohd and what to wear..and how amazing their short but eventful conversation went
this was major news..
it was after all,Aliyah's first date.


Thursday:

Aliyah looked at herself in the mirror..she wore a short black dress..as Rana (her best friend) told her:nobody goes wrong in a black dress..its flattering and classy!
So Aliyah took her friend's advice and wore her favorite form-fitting black dress..
She was really tanned since she and the girls went to the beach a day before her big date..she wanted to impress him so much..

She let her hair down in big bouncy curls..and wore her favorite heart-shaped tiffany earrings..
Nervously she waited for his call..he was supposed to pick her up...
As if mohd read her mind..he called her..

She went outside..and found him in his jeep..|( she added another point in her head..plus one since he had such a macho guy's car)
She got in and the car smelled of his perfume..she got in and said very shyly "hi"

Mohd was wearing a Ralph lauren red polo shirt and diesel jeans...He looked good..he had a dirty look going on ( which she absoultely loved) he looked so hot with a beard on...she was hooked;)

Mohd: 7yallah 3aloyty
Aliyah blused..she loved her new nickname..it was so enduring and sincere...no one has ever called her that...she really did feel special...
She smiled..she didnt know whatt to say...
Mohd took her hand into his..he wanted to..he couldnt help himself..he felt close to her..

Mohd was known to be shy with the girls..He was the good guy as his friends call him..he always told his friends..the girl that i decide to talk to..ill marry her ..i dont care what u think..i dont want to waste my time.. { imagine there are guys who think like that!!!}

Aliyah smiled..she had goosebumps all over from his touch..she liked how he held her hand as if he was protecting her..
They talked while Aliyah kept on changing the FM..Mohd liked how comfortable Aliyah felt with him..
They laughed..and talked about everything..what they like..about their family..about their senior year...about their countries..Aliyah was very Bahraini as he was so Kuwaitiy..

Before heading to the movie..Mohd looked at Aliyah and let out a loud sigh..
Aliyah: eshfeeek?
Mohd: i just want to tell u that i like u Aliya..really like u..and..mmm..i never felt this way..entay '3air..mat3arfen eshlon dshaitay galbay..bs 7bait enach et3arfen hal shay"

Aliyah's heart melted..his words were so genuine..she squeezed his hand..(since they were still holding hands)
Aliyah: i feel exactly the same way..

Mohd's face completly changed and lit up..those six words meant everything to him..

He was definetly calling his mom after his date..

Aliyah was still upset at the fact that Mohd still hasn't asked for her number..what was taking him so long she wondered!!
She and the girls analyzed the situation over and over again..
she knew he was interested but what was the catch..!!

She had a really tough economics midterm..she didnt study at all..she was thinking about him all the time..she has fallen for him..butterflies and all..Aliyah never felt this way about any guy..
she sings along to 3bdul7aleem songs..she cant sleep..she's smiling all the time..to a point where her friends have noticed a serious change in the way she looks at life..she was no longer the little grouch of the group..she was the happy bumblebee;) (her new nickname with the girls:P)

she went to her eco. class and looked nervously around at the room..ppl were reading and going over their notes..she ,on the other hand was thinking about Mohd..
Her professor handed out the midterms to everyone..
Aliyah looked at it and her heart sunk...
she knew nothing..it was four pages..she answered a question here and there..and that was it..
she should have been better prepared..
but i guess she had somewhat of a good reason..
this was her first time in love..she cant possibly tell life to put her eco midterm on hold or can she;)

so thats what she did exactly..
with a big smile and her new positive outlook..with merely fifteen minutes to the start of the midterm Aliyah walked out..

The whole room looked at her like she was insane since it was UNHEARD of for someone to leave thaaaaat early in an eco midterm..

Aliyah didnt care..she will drop the class and take it again next semester..This crush wont WAIT!

so..

she goes looking for Mohd..she knew his schedule..he was supposed to be in the architecure building working on his drawings for class..

she goes there..and to her luck Mohd was there working on his drawings..:):):)
She goes up to him..he looks up..and blushes...
"Alooyaaaa"
Aliya: Mohd..eshrayik eb my suprise?
Mohd: walah a7laa suprise malat elyoum
Aliya blushes..( seriosuly i was like three different shades of red here)
Mohd and Aliya talk and talk..sitting in their usual spot in the architecure buidling on university campus..
Students were walking by and looking at them...you know how ppl can tell.. they were more than friends..everyone saw the sparks..
She was sitting next to him..inhaling his amazing perfume..he sat so close to her that he smelt her scent( she alwys had this vanilla/3oud scent) He loved that..he was really falling for her..

Mohd cleared his throut and said" Alooya may5alif i take ur number 3shan we decide about the movie..umm..u know..in the weekend..gilna last time ..."
Aliyah cut him short: how about u give me ur number a7san ( supposedly i wanted to have the upper hand in this realtionship)
Mohd gave me his number but i didnt give him mine!

Mohd smiled ( and his dimples appeared): na6rach tarah edgeneliii
Aliyah: akeed i will..yala ba5leek itkamil sho'3lik oo talk to u later i guess..and she laughed..
she walked away..she knew he was looking at her..she felt his stare on her..she turned..and she was right..Mohd was mesmirized looking at her ( so true by the way..she knew she had him right there and then..)
she smiled..and he smiled back...


so this was love..
this was when their relationship took off..or soared as you can say..
She really loved him..
she didnt know how much until it ended..

Aliyah was excited..she waited eagerly for her morning classes just for a chance to bump into Mohd..she didnt see him around..she would go to starbux with her friends since it was the Khaleeji thing to do..and no luck..Mohd seemed like the type that avoids these places..



She got up super early and tried to look her best..Her dark hair was full of life with her perfect curls...she wore a short skirt with a cute white top..it was her favorite..there was nothing special about it but she loved the way it looked on her..it was a white BCBG shirt and the sleeves were cute..they were cut-outs of flowers..it looked really good on her newly tanned color..

she Hoped mohd would appreciate her so called new look..



She went to her class a bit early to get a glimpse of Mohd before his calculas class..she was disappointed..he didnt show up..

she went to class not really feeling it at all..she looked at her watch..when will this stupid class end..

she kepts scribbling down songs..love songs on her notebook..

this made it official..

she has a CRUSH..a crush..

Aliyah re-read what she scribbled down her notebook..it was one of her favorite songs..for fathel shaker and nawal..

Class ended..and asual Aliyah had no clue what was going on in class..





As if her wish was answered , there was Mohd waiting for her in his usual spot..

He face lit up when he saw her..

Aliyah couldnt help but blush..

His smile was so genuine..he looked really happy to see her..

Mohd's heat melted..why is he acting all mushy..he wasnt the type..he was scared of this feeling but still he enjoyed this new excitment in his life..

Aliyah thought that was the cutest thing she heard..was he real? Guys usally act all cool and pretend like their all grown up but here was Mohd being honest and talking about his mom with such love.. Mentally,She added an extra point for him..she liked a mama's boy..



She sat next to him..a bit closer this time..She saw him smile as if he knew her game and what she was thinking about at that time..

They talked for a while until Mohd's second class started..She hated seeing him leave but she didnt want him to miss class again..

Mohd said" what do u have later on in the day"

Aliyah "Nothing walah ill go out later with the girls to shop b3dain bs"

Mohd"enzain t3alely b3dain at 12 ehnee if u can i have some drawings i have to work on.."

Mohd" na6rach 3yal..bye" He was getting his books ready and stood up..

Mohd stopped,"SHNO y3ni"and lauged..

Aliyah and Mohd had some language gaps even though they were both Khaleeji..there were words new to thier dictionary..

Aliyah laughed and said"it means take care of urself"

he winked at her..it was as if they were in a movie she thought..



Aliyah walked back to the dorms with a huge smile on her face...she immedielty went to her best friend's room and saw that all the girls were there lounging around..

They wanted details..

They knew about Aliyah and the mysterious Kuwaiti guy and their early morning dates..



Lets first introduce the girls of Aliyah's gang:

1.Norah - her q8i friend..she was the loudest of the group..blonde hair and all..

2. Rana - her B7raini best friend..the quiet one of the bunch but the smartest..

3.Reem - her Qatari friend who was one of the sweetest ppl she met in Uni..

Aliyah laughed..typical Norah..

the girls chatted non-stop about Aliyah's encounters and analyzed it by details..Typical Girls ha..

Mohd looked at his watch..where was Aliyah..he didnt know what to do..he was the shy guy..he wanted to ask for her number but he thought it was too soon..He didnt want her to take the wrong idea of him..

He really liked her and he enjoyed his morning class so much becasue of their morning chats..

He tried to get back to work on his assignment..



Aliyah looked around in the building..She saw Mohd hunched over his desk drawing..She loved the way he looked..

He was attractive..

She went up to him...and waited for him to acknowledge her..

He didnt look up until a few seconds later ..suprised that she was there..

Mohd's heart skipped a few beats..every time she spoked.



They sat next to each other..really close..just talking..he needed a break from his work..she could smell his perfume..it was amazing..she didnt know what it was..but it made her pulse race..

He looked at her with such admiration which made Aliyah blush..

He said: eshryich we go to a movie bl weekend..

Aliyah didnt know what to say and this made Mohd squirm in his place..

He continued" etha ur busy its ok..and he kept ramblinig on..

Aliyah cut him short" i'd love too"

Mohd smiled..why was he shy all of a sudden ...usually he flirts with her.this time he was stuck..He lightly touched her hand by accident..and and electriclty ran threw Aliyah's body..

This was new ..all new to her she thought...

Mohd wanted to hold her hand.but decided it was better not to..

Love at first sight..

Aliyah woke up to the sound of her annoying alarm at 7am..god why did i register for such an early class on Sunday! she was the only one from her friends who took early morning classes and she regretted her foolish decision...she quickly took a shower..and dressed down for her computer class..she wore her favorite abercrombie pants with a cozy sweater..she put a little bit of Dior's lip gloss (pink ofcourse) and some eyeliner..she looked at herself in the mirror and approved of her early morning look:P

she walked to class since the weather was amazing..a light breeze here and there..she kept thinking of him..did she make the right decision by breaking up with her high school sweet-heart..he was her first love..she kept thinking about fahad all the way to class..

The university looked empty since hardly anyone takes morning classes with the exception of nerds..she looked for her class since it was the first time..
she was confused..was it on the ground floor? first floor? she didn't know what to do..she saw some faces but they were unfriendly faces so she looked for a friendly Khaleeji face to ask..

She saw a cute guy..really cute..tall..a bit on the skinny side..wearing a GFF white shirt with jeans..he had intense eyes..really intense eyes..they were absolutely stunning..
he caught her looking at him and he smiled ..a really warm smile that melted Aliyah's heart right there and then..

He came up to her and asked her," asif bs entay eb 9af elcalculas" in a thick Kuwaiti accent
Aliyah was at awe at her luck..a cute guy actually approached her..not in a tacky way but she liked how this started..
she said" la walah ana g3da adwer 9af elcomputer oo 7dey thy3a"
the guy laughed..
his laugh..wow..she actually had butterflies in her stomach..
he said," my friend eb ur class..its that one"( he pointed out a class on the right)
Aliyah" thanks walah matga9er mm.."
the guy responded" Mohammed" with a big smile "oo entay?"
Aliyah couldn't believe her luck..she was usually known to be the unlucky one in the bunch with her friends..she couldn't wait to tell the girls back in the dorms abt her encounter with prince charming...
Aliyah blushing" Aliyah"

Mohd immediately warmed up to her..he loved the way she talked..
she was really cute..
as they say..dshat galbaa elebnya right there and then..he was hooked..even though it was quick..

She couldnt concentrate in class..who was this guy..he seemed nice..really nice and she wasnt the type of girl who falls fast..but she had butterflies..this wasnt just a cute guy..this felt different.
she felt guilty..she was just thinking abt Fahad now this guy came to the picture and messed up with her head..

Mohd laughed " ana i have class at 9:30 sij malee 5lg..
Aliyah" allh e3neek" she didnt know what else to say..it sounded stupid and so not the way she talkes..she just smililed shyly at him

she laughed at her new nickname and sat by him not too close though ..wanting to play hard to get..she looked at his face..and studied his features..
he had intense eyes( i know i know i couldnt get past his eyes)

Mohd couldnt help but look at Aliyah..she was pretty he thought..dark eyes and equally dark eyes..she captivated him..she seemed like a nice girl..what he liked most about her..was how sincere and how real she was acting with him..usually girls are fake and over-loaded with makeup..he liked her..he was amazed at how fast this took..
they talked and talked as if they know each other
for what seemed like forever..
